Bier fest Derby

German Bierfest Derby 2017

11th May – 14th May

Situated in Derby city centre, over a long weekend you can experience great fun and good food. At the German Village the wooden huts sell everything from Bratwurst to authentic German products. In the exclusive Sekt Garden, you can enjoy a delicious glass of Sekt (famous German sparkling wine). In an open-air Bier Garden, you can enjoy a stein of our wonderful selection of 3 handmade German beers. In the Fun Time area, you can have a great time with your kids enjoying traditional German fun activities.

In the evening come and join the party inside Bavarian FestTent with German DJ show, dance floor and waiters in Lederhosen and Dirndl. Sitting on the long rows of traditional benches enjoy some steins and a Schnitzel.

General Admission is free all days and no ticket is required. This includes admission to the German Village, Sekt Garden, Bier Garden and the FunTime. The German Village is open every day from 12 noon. You will need to purchase a ticket to gain entry to the FestTent. You can do so HERE

Bier Ticket £21.50-£26.50 Includes a guaranteed reserved seat in the Bavarian FestTent. One stein (2 pint) of FestBier and a plate of traditional Bavarian food of Schweinebraten (roast pork) and an Underberg (digestif).

VIP Bier Ticket £31.50-£36.50 Includes priority VIP entrance and a guaranteed reserved seat in the VIP area of the Bavarian FestTent. 1 glass of Schlumberger sekt, a stein (2 pint) of Bier and a plate of traditional Bavarian food of Schweinebraten (roast pork) and an Underberg (digestif).

The Farmers’ Market is held every third Thursday in each month throughout the year on the Market Place in Derby, 8am – 2pm.

There is a unique range of locally and internationally sourced produce for sale, including:

  • Cheeses
  • Meats
  • Fresh vegetables
  • Breads
  • Pies
  • Cakes
  • Plants
  • Ostrich burgers

Derby LIVE is part of Derby City Council. They present and produce an excellent and diverse programme of live performances, events and festivals – including Derby Folk Festival, Derby Festé and Derby Comedy Festival. They are innovative, inclusive, sustainable and vital to the regeneration of Derby.

Their venues include the Guildhall Theatre and Derby Arena as well as outdoor spaces in and around Derby City Centre like the Market Place, Darley Park and Bass’ Recreational Ground. They also manage outdoor and city centre events, including The Darley Park Concert and the annual Bonfire & Fireworks Display.

Allestree Park Derby

Orienteering at Allestree Park

Take part in the Derby 5 Parks Challenge & explore Allestree Park in a different way with Derwent Valley Orienteers!
Orienteering is a great way to get fit and you can race, jog or walk round the course. Individuals and families are welcome, and badges are available for children finding more than 10 checkpoints. These will be given out at the last event in the series, at Calke Park, on May 21st. Courses suitable for beginner and experienced orienteers, with help and advice available.

Three courses are available:

• Short: 2-3km
• Medium: 4km
• Long: 5km

It’s just 50p to try a second course, but please arrive early if you think you’d like to do this (courses close at 4pm). Registration 1-3pm, on the day only (but please email sal.chaffey@gmail.com if you are bringing more than 4 people, so they can print enough maps). Located at the car park off the A6. Start times from 1pm to 3pm.
